Hey Everybody!
There’s not much happening far as Training and Events this week. It feels like Spring outside and most of Chicago’ s Improv slows down in the Spring and Summer.
As long as we are thinking about artistic development though, there is an interesting discussion occurring on IRC about what we do when we are done training but not commercially or critically successful.
It’s got me thinking and I wrote a short piece about in the “Improviser’s Guide” section.
Let me know how you define success for yourself and I will get back in a few days with my own conclusions on the matter.
Second City is hosting a memorial for JR Monday, March 12th at 2pm in the ETC Theatre for refreshments and laughter and to remember JR.
JR was a fellow intern at Second City and I saw him just about weekly for the last two years. I’m tremendously sad that someone so young and passionate passed away.
Steph McCullough has also set up a fundraiser for a Memorial Fund here.
Contact Scott Elam at SElam@secondcity.comwith any questions.
Monday 3.12.12 7p – 9p
Annoyance Theater 4830 N. Broadway
This workshop focuses on forging the audition space for women, making the callbacks and getting the job.
